Welcome to the WeLovePDFs Privacy Policy (accessible at https://welovepdfs.com). This document outlines our architectural commitments to user privacy, data security, and client-side processing integrity.
Unlike traditional cloud PDF services that force you to upload documents to external data centers, our platform operates entirely within your web browser using WebAssembly. Your documents are never stored, scanned, indexed, analyzed, or shared.
01. Client-Side WebAssembly Isolation & Zero-Knowledge Architecture
PDF Editor Free was engineered upon a foundational privacy philosophy: confidential user documents must never traverse external network boundaries or reside in third-party cloud data repositories. Unlike traditional cloud converter platforms that upload user files to multi-tenant serversโwhere documents remain vulnerable to data breaches, automated scraping, lawful interception, and long-term retentionโour entire processing pipeline executes within your local browser's isolated WebAssembly (WASM) sandbox. All parsing of PDF CosObj object trees, stream decoding, vector rasterization, font subsetting, and cryptographic ciphers operate on your CPU and RAM. When you close or refresh your browser tab, all allocated heap memory buffers are immediately zeroized and released by the operating system garbage collector.
02. Zero Account Creation & Zero Personal Data Collection
We believe document security is a basic human right. We do not require visitors to register user accounts, log in with social profiles, provide email addresses, or submit payment information to access our 40+ document tools. Because no personal user accounts exist on our systems, we maintain zero capability to link specific document transformations to individual identities, IP addresses, or browser fingerprints. You can process highly sensitive documents completely anonymously without leaving digital corporate footprints. If you voluntarily contact support, your email is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is never sold or shared.
03. GDPR Article 25 Compliance: Privacy by Design & Default
Under the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR, Regulation 2016/679), organizations must enforce technical and organizational measures guaranteeing Data Protection by Design and by Default. PDF Editor Free complies with GDPR Article 25 at the hardware level: because zero personal data leaves client memory, no personal data processing occurs on remote infrastructure. Consequently, statutory GDPR data subject rightsโincluding Access (Art. 15), Rectification (Art. 16), Erasure (Art. 17), and Portability (Art. 20)โare satisfied inherently at the point of origin. European businesses can use PDF Editor Free with full regulatory confidence without requiring Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
04. California CCPA & CPRA Privacy Disclosures
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA, Cal. Civ. Code ยง 1798.100 et seq.), California consumers are entitled to know if their personal information is collected, monetized, or shared. PDF Editor Free does not collect, store, sell, lease, monetize, or share any personal consumer information or document content with commercial data brokers, advertising networks, or marketing partners. Because zero consumer data is collected, opt-out requests under the CCPA are unnecessary as no data repository exists.
05. HIPAA Protected Health Information (PHI) Confidentiality
Healthcare providers and clinics can process medical documents with full peace of mind. By processing patient records entirely within local browser WebAssembly memory heaps, WeLovePDFs guarantees that ePHI is never transmitted to cloud storage repositories, eliminating HIPAA violation risks without requiring cloud BAAs.
06. Educational Records & FERPA (34 CFR Part 99) Safeguards
Universities and educators regularly process confidential student records governed by FERPA. When educators use WeLovePDFs to compile course syllabi, combine student transcripts, or redact grading rosters, files remain strictly on the local institutional computer.
07. Browser Local Storage & Zero Advertising Cookies
WeLovePDFs utilizes browser localStorage strictly to save interface preferences (such as dark/light theme). We do not set persistent advertising tracking cookies or behavioral tracking beacons.
08. Ephemeral Memory Zeroization & Data Lifecycle
During in-browser processing, binary buffers reside exclusively in volatile RAM. Upon closing the tab, all memory pointers are immediately reclaimed by operating system garbage collection.
